For me I would consider everything just because something is fast does not make it better and new render engines are always full of bugs and fail all over the place. I am going to go left field here and say, you should be looking at your whole pipeline and not at just render X or Y. Vray now has a GPU based render as well, which is quite good and fast as long as you have a good graphic card.Īnw i would really like what you guys have to say about that, i am sure you will be very helpful and maybe help us make the decision. Just to make it clear, we mostly do product rendering, we replace them in real footages, so we need photo-realistic looking products, which i know we can accomplish in vray, i am already being able to do that.īut they believe Redshift is the way to go, its the future, its fast (GPU based), but i know that it doesnt have alot of support, very few tutorials, all in all still a very young render engine. We are trying to build a small render farm in the post production company i work in, but we are not being able to agree on one render engine, some of the team member are saying we should use redshift, the others including me says we should use vray. I would like to hear everyone opinion on that matter, maybe some of you are already working on Redshift.
